What are the screens made of?

Material is a high durability polymer that has a different feel and performance. Conventional screen material is made of Aluminum or PVC coated fiberglass.
Will GORE inLighten screens fit any window, no matter who makes it?

GORE inLighten replacement screens are custom built based on the dimensions and hardware of the screen, not the manufacturer of the window.

We can fit window screens up to 38"x75". We can fit most screens.
- Rolls of screen material are available for special home projects such as screen porches, sunrooms, extra large windows or window screen with wood frames.

I don't see my hardware attachment shown? Can I use another type?
We would not recommend using another type of attachment, as all sales are final and non-returnable. If you would like please send us a photo of your hardware and we will have our technical team review and get back with you. Please send photo to

Why don't you make screen door replacements?
We have launched this business starting with window screens. Replacement screens for sliding glass doors and atrium doors are not available at this time. Our screen material is very transparent and may not be visible on patio or sliding screen doors. If you have any questions, please call customer service at 1-800-554-4696.
Is the screen strong? How strong is the screen?
The GORE inLighten screen has been fully tested to meet industry standards. It maintains strength over time better than fiberglass screens*. The highly elastic polymer in GORE inLighten window screens feels different than conventional screens and has a "memory" to prevent denting and sagging under normal use over time. It has been well received by homeowners in the U.S. market over the last five years with the Pella® Vivid View® product. GORE inLighten replacement window screens are backed by a
warranty program.
How long do GORE inLighten screens last? Are they durable?
The GORE inLighten screens are very durable, made with a specially developed polymer that will withstand all types of weather. The screen material is backed by a 5 year
warranty. It is UV stable, remains unchanged by exposure to sunlight, and will not flake, crack or change color over time. Because it is a more elastic material than metal or fiberglass, it will not dent or sag over time

Are GORE inLighten screens heat resistant?
GORE inLighten screen material is designed to provide ventilation and keep insects out. The material is not designed to withstand high temperatures, such as flames and heat from a BBQ grill. BBQ grills and high temperature items should not be placed or used near window screens.
How do you clean the frame and screen? Is there any solution that will damage the screen?
GORE inLighten screen material is made with a special non-stick material which makes it easier for cleaning. Simply use a hose to spray the screen off. If needed you can use a standard household detergent, but do not use any type of abrasive cleaner or a brush to clean. Do not scrub screen.
Do they prevent UV rays from coming into my home?
Although GORE inLighten screens cannot be harmed by UV rays, they will not block UV rays from entering through your window screen.
Is this an insect screen? Will small bugs enter through?
GORE inLighten screens are designed to have the same hole size as a conventional window screens and therefore will keep most bugs out.
Is it made from PTFE like your other Gore products?
GORE inLighten screens are made from a high durability polymer material, not metal or PVC coated fiberglass.
Are there any known allergies to the materials used to make the screens?
GORE inLighten screens have not been allergy tested.
How do InLighten screens compare to Andersen or Pella screens?

Andersen® TruScene®-Andersen window screens are made from stainless steel and are designed to fit Andersen windows only. GORE inLighten screens can be customized to fit most windows. The inLighten screen material is more elastic than conventional screens, so it won't sag or dent under normal use.

Pella®- Vivid View®- Pella Vivid View screens are made from the same material as inLighten screens but are designed to fit Pella windows. GORE inLighten screens can be customized to be able to fit most windows.

Your GORE inLighten window screens are custom made to your specification and should arrive free from defects in materials or workmanship. Please notify Customer Service immediately, within 30 days, if you receive product that does not meet your order specifications and Gore will replace or repair the product at no additional charge.
Five-Year (5 Year) Limited Warranty on Screen Material
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. warrants that the GORE inLighten screen material shall be free from fading and rust for a period of five (5) years following the date of sale by Gore™ or its authorized representative. If Gore is given notice of a defect in materials or workmanship covered by this GORE inLighten Warranty occurring within five (5) years from the date of sale by Gore or its authorized representative, Gore shall, at its sole option repair or replace the defective screen material at no charge. Frames, crossbars, clips and attachments are not covered under this warranty.

GORE inLighten Return Policy
Since GORE inLighten screens are custom made to your specifications, after 30 days of receiving your order, no exchanges or replacements are possible except for warranty service. Please notify Customer Service immediately, within 30 days, if you receive product that does not meet your order specifications.
All orders are from shipping point, may not be cancelled or changed once they have been entered, and are paid in full when production is completed. We are happy to guide you through measuring, selection of hardware or attachments, and to help you complete your order if you are at all unsure.

No, we only offer one carrier option.

Yes, we now offer rolls of our screen material for easy DIY installation. The rolls come in a variety of widths and lengths to meet your specific needs.
